Happy New Year!

I hope you had a fantastic break over the Christmas period and made the most of the plans you had.

I managed to get most of my list done, and we had a lovely Christmas, however, I did fall ill on Christmas day and I’m still not fully recovered, so I will continue to take time OFF. So in a way, I’m a little behind, but not to worry!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past few weeks it’s that I need to listen to my body.  Something I haven’t been doing enough of.  In all honesty, I feel like the illness came about because I’d got myself so stressed in the run-up to December, and once I stopped, my body just gave up.

So there will be some changes for me and how I do things in 2019.

I don’t know about you, but over the past few years, as I’ve fallen deeper into the business world, I’ve found myself inundated with messages to push forward, hustle, strive for bigger, better, more clients, more money, more, more, more… To plan every waking moment of my life, reduce all the fun stuff, stop watching TV and to sleep less (yes, that has been actual advice!), to constantly push my business and myself to the limits… I can only describe it as insane.

I’m out.

Out of the rat race, out of the race to the top of an invisible mountain that has been made by other people.

Instead, I’m going all in on myself, and I invite you to join me.

I invite you to join me throughout 2019 to leave behind other peoples opinions of what you should be doing, and I’m inviting you to tune into what you want.  For yourself, your loved ones, and your business.  I also invite you to stop comparing yourself to those around you, unless they truly have what you are striving for.  And even then, don’t compare yourself to them, learn from them… they’ve probably been doing this longer than you anyway, so it’s not a level playing field.

Now that’s not to say that you need to slack off, if you want to be the best in your industry, then go for it!
Strive, and do what it takes to get there.  I’ll back you up 100%
But for those of you who don’t want to do that, who are happy just having some fun and getting paid along the way, then go for that too.

Do what feels right for you!

I’ve had to make some tough decisions this past couple of weeks.
I’m leaving behind my coach, someone I’ve admired for years, because what they teach doesn’t align with what I want anymore.
I’m leaving behind some online groups where I’ve made some great friends because I’ve realised they stress me out and make me feel inferior.
I’m leaving behind comparisonitis, bitterness, jealousy and anger.
Yes, this also means I’ll be leaving some people behind me, some I considered good friends, but it’s OK.  I’m no longer holding onto things or people that bring out the worst in me.

The New Year is about change (that’s why we make resolutions)

It’s time to tune into what we really want in and from life.

It’s time to tune back into ourselves, take our top 5 personal (and business) values, and make them the focus.

Take a few moments and figure out your top 5 values, and see how your business and life align with them.

If you’re interested, mine are Fun, Creativity, Connection, Progress and Learning.
This is what I’ll be focusing on in 2019.

Do you feel like you’re aligned with your values?
What could you do to bring more of them into your day?

Anyway, this has been a long one, so I’ll let you get about your day.

As always, thank you so much for being here.

Speak to you soon,
Debbie 😀 x
